OUR ENGAGEMENT

THE WHOLE STORY
Thinking back to June 17th brings back a night of great memories. Some of you have not heard the "Engagement Story" before so here it is. It was June the 17th and I was at Camp JoyEl for some training. I had received a letter that morning from Trevor saying that he had an evening planned for the two of us. Of course I was excited from then on out. That afternoon when my training was done I found and envelope inside my car. The envelope contained some pictures, and MP3 player and a letter. The letter told me to go to 5 different places around camp that we had memories from and write them down. The pictures were of us at camp and different activities we had done there. The letter also said that there was a dress in the trunk of the car. I was then told to change into the dress and drive to Chambersburg to meet him at The Chambersburg Bible Church and listen to the MP3 player filled with songs liked by both of us.

At the church I met Trevor there and he then drove me to The Cozy Inn in Chambersburg. There I arrived to a table with a vase of my favorite flowers. We enjoyed a nice dinner together. Trevor told me that this was night of memories. We talked about the different memories that we had at camp and at the church. Church was where had practice for Living Miracles ( a singing group that Trevor and I were in ). This is where we started to get to really know the other and first start liking each other four years ago. While at dinner he had arranged for my brother to pick up my car at the church.

After dinner Trevor drove my to Shippensburg where we went to my High School, Church, and the University. At each place we got out and walked around and talked the different memories we had at each location. The different soccer games, plays, chorus concerts, and track meets.

Next Trevor started to drive towards Chambersburg, he said we were going out for dessert. On the way to Chambersburg we received a call from Ricky Davis, (friend of ours) asking Trevor if he could pick up a computer part at Trevor's house. Trevor told him that we were going out for ice cream at Mickey's (my favorite!!!!!) but that his parents should be home and he could pick up there. Five minutes later we received another phone call from Ricky saying that Trevor's parents were not home. Trevor said that we could swing by the house and give Ricky the computer part. After getting off the phone Trevor apologized for the interruption to our date and told me it would only take a few minutes. As we neared Trevor's house he drove past it. I was now confident that tonight would be the night. We then drove into a lane and I was told to close my eyes. When I opened them a pavilion was in front of me by a stream with more than fifty candles lit and a candle lit walkway leading to a table. The table was set for two and soft music was playing in the background. I then realized the calls were signals for when everything was set up. Trevor and I then enjoyed dessert and watched the sunset over the water and surrounding fields. (It was so beautiful) After dessert Trevor asked me to dance with him. It was then that Trevor got down on one knee and asked me the question. Of course I said yes!! Then Trevor sent some type of signal and fireworks were put off in our honor. These were done by Ricky and Kristi Davis (thank you for your help) and then we enjoyed a time of talking and more dancing. When then went to his house and told hie parents (who already knew) and then to my house to tell my parents (who also already knew) but I was able to surprise my siblings with the news.

The Abridged Version
Here are the facts for those of you who would rather have the shorten version. It was June 17th and I was working up at Camp JoyEl. I was surprised with a letter and dress in my car. I was told to put on the dress and drive to Chambersburg to meet Trevor. From there Trevor took my to Th Cozy Inn and told me that it would be a night of memories. After dinner we went to Shippensburg and stopped at the high school, church and university and talked about all the memories we had created together there. Then Trevor told me he was going to take me out for ice cream at Mickey's in Greencastle, but instead he took me to a pavilion near a stream at sunset with lots of candles where we shared dessert and danced together as we watched the day turn to night. It was picture perfect. He then asked me to marry him and I said yes. I was then surprised with fireworks after I agreed to marry him.
